slimdx 2010 version

I would like to know if the slimdx.dll included with gorgon is the march2009 SP1, correcting the corrupted 64 bits lib. Will you plan to supply a version compiled with the last February 2010 lib ? I tried to compile gorgon with slimdx 9.42. The Viewport class is not in the same namespace. The ShaderByteCode class does not contain anymore the SetValueTranspose methods.

Ok, I have just comment the two methods that are not in slimdx 9.42, and compiled it successfully. I could not find where to change the build version. Where is it ?

It is the SP1 March 2009 version (I'm the one that pointed out their error and got them to fix it). And it's unlikely that I'll update it to a newer version of SlimDX unless I have a pressing need to do so.

This is why Gorgon is open source, if you want to go ahead and wedge in the latest SlimDX, then be my guest.

I just tried SlimDX's version of June, 2010 and got the same compilation error about SetValueTranspose. Should I use the slimdx.dll for 4.0 instead? Thank you.

I have no idea what "4.0" means in this context. Do you mean .NET 4.0?

As I said above, Gorgon is compiled against SlimDX March 2009 (SP1), no other version of SlimDX will work for it and I have no plans to update it to use a newer version. Because it is open source, you can go through Gorgon's source and update it to use a another version of SlimDX. However, I will not be providing support for this process, so you're on your own here.

You should be able to install the June and March assemblies side-by-side, and you can get the March version here.
